Visit our Greensboro Depot Railroad Museum Page

West Gadsden Historical Society owns two museums located in Greensboro, Florida. Each museum offers a unique look into Gadsden County.


The Dezell House, located at 328 E. 8th Street in Greensboro, was the home of James and Maggie Dezell.  It is listed on the National Historical Registry and an exemplary example of the Prairie Style of Architecture. The museum is staged as a home of the early 20th century and additionally houses several historical collections and exhibits:


  • McLane Massacre
  • Buddy Pitts Collection
  • Medical Practitioners of Gadsden County prior to 1965
  • Greensboro Band 1965 World's Fair Exhibit
  • Quincy Florida Fire Department Historical Equipment
  • Home Demonstration Clubs of Gadsden County



The Greensboro Depot Railroad Museum, located at 115 Duffle Avenue in Greensboro, is the last remaining depot located on the Apalachicola Northern Railroad Line. The museum is the home of a unique collection of railroad memorabilia. Exhibits include:


  • The Billy Howell Collection
  • ANRR equipment and furnishings from other depots
  • Various other railroad memorabilia
  • ​An interactive children's room
